Metalic Goniopora #2

Goniopora, commonly known as flowerpot coral or daisy coral, is a genus of reef-building stony corals belonging to the family Poritidae. These corals are characterized by their beautiful polyps, which resemble flowers and come in a variety of vibrant colors. Goniopora corals are found in tropical and subtropical waters throughout the Indo-Pacific region, including the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean, and the Pacific Ocean.

They can be challenging to maintain in captivity compared to some other coral species. They require stable water parameters, moderate to high lighting, and gentle water flow. 

Placement: Goniopora corals should be placed in the lower to middle part of an aquarium, with ample space for them to grow. You can place them in the sand at the bottom of the tank or in the middle of rocks, but you should securely anchor them down. Goniopora are aggressive and will sting any corals that their long polyps can come in contact with, so do not place them too close to other corals.

 Flow: This species of coral prefers gentle to high amounts of flow. 

Light: The lighting requirements for these corals fall in a moderate range of par, between 100-250 PAR. After the coral has been properly acclimated to a higher range of light, it will experience more vibrant coloration. This takes time and patience but is well worth it.
